Life can really suck when as a woman you have deal with a whole gambit of menopause symptoms. It can even get to the point where it is depressing because you are aware that the various stages of menopause goes on for several years. The good news is though that each and every one of the symptoms affiliated with menopause can be handled effectively to the point where their disruptions to your life are minimal.

One of the most aggravating symptoms to have to deal with is bladder incontinence. You gradually begin to notice that you cannot seem to hold your urine like you used to. It seems like you are constantly getting the urge to go. Then there are those embarrassing moments where you laugh or sneeze and you immediately lose some of your urine. It can take you off guard the first few times because you aren't expecting it.

No matter whether you are experiencing the urge symptom or the leakage or a combination you can do something to help lessen the impact this is having on you.
In fact you should be aggressive about getting this problem under control because you will find that you could end up with urinary tract infections or more long term problems.

Exercise:
There are special exercises that you can practice and nobody even knows you are doing them. These are called the Pelvic Kegel exercises and they have to strengthen the urinary tract.

Medications:
There are newer medications available now that really help with getting the urinary incontinence under control. One type of treatment that is becoming increasingly popular is the use of herbal supplements to help deal with this problem. Many women are experiencing a great deal of relief with these.

Surgery:
For very severe cases and for those women who are constantly suffering from urinary tract infections there are some surgical procedures that will help.

Lifestyle Changes:
Denying yourself some of the little pleasures in life that you have adopted may help greatly as well, like quitting smoking, reducing your caffeine and drinking less beverages (although this can cause issues in other areas).  Make sure that when you do visit the ladies room that you don't wait till the last moment and that you empty your bladder completely.

In the meantime while you are dealing with this problem and getting it under control, there are some excellent products on the market that you can use as aids in helping you keep more comfortable and sanitary.
